Course Details

"Casualty Care and Rescue Tactics for Law Enforcement" is a class that compiles a normal 16-hour training day into a down and dirty, fast paced and interactive, 8-hour block of instruction on life saving medical interventions and rescue tactics.  This course is designed for everyone from the non-medically trained LEO, to the fully integrated tactical medical operator.  The course will have heavy emphasis in the following areas:  hands-on skill practice of severe hemorrhage control utilizing direct pressure and conventional/non-conventional tourniquet application. Students will also be introduced to hemostatic agents, wound packing and pressure bandages.  This course will teach individuals how to deal with basic airway interventions and penetrating trauma.  Attendees of the course will have practical application exercises on "Officer Down" rescue tactics and techniques.  The 8-hour time frame allows for very little down time and instead will focus more on the "hands-on" skills sets that every officer needs in today's dangerous world.

Course Topics

Basic and Advanced Hemorrhage Control Techniques; Management of Penetrating Trauma; Basic Airway Management and Hypothermia precautions in the injured victim.
