2018 SWAT Conference - Houston

The TTPOA is proud to announce that the El Paso Police Department SWAT team will be hosting a 5 day (50 hour) Basic Precision Marksman course in El Paso, TX. The primary instructor will be EPPD SWAT marksman/observer, Sgt. Rudy Gallegos, who has been with the El Paso SWAT team for 17 years and has 13 years experience as a marksman/observer. Assistant cadre will be comprised of EPPD SWAT marksmen element personnel.

TTPOA along with Houston PD SWAT announces a six-day (60-hour) BASIC SWAT SCHOOL in the Houston, Texas area. This school will be taught primarily by the Houston SWAT team. The training cadre consists of experienced and recognized SWAT trainers.

TTPOA along with Lubbock PD SWAT announces a five-day (60-hour) BASIC SWAT SCHOOL in the Lubbock, Texas area. This school will be taught primarily by the Lubbock SWAT team. The training cadre consists of experienced and recognized SWAT trainers.

This course is designed for law enforcement personnel who are responsible for deploying in the capacity as a SWAT Team Leader or as a supervisor who is responsible for the training and deployment of tactical teams. The focus of this training will be on pre-incident training, planning, organizing, and the tactical decision-making process used in the resolution of high-risk operations. Also included in the curriculum is an overview of SWAT training topics including selection and testing, training.

This 5-day, 40-hour program is designed to provide law enforcement personnel with the knowledge, skills and abilities to conduct protective operations for dignitaries, witnesses, public officials and other persons who require this specialized service due to imminent threats to their safety.

DFW Airport will be hosting a 40 hour, Patrol Rifle Instructor class June 11-15. This class is designed to prepare instructors to efficiently teach patrol rifle classes to officers and recruits. Instructors will learn the techniques and skills necessary to conduct realistic training and qualifications that meet and exceed TCOLE standards.

Excellence in Training: Mental Preparation Techniques to Enhance Real World Performance.

Learn how to create time/ distance/ opportunity to deploy your firearm from a concealed position. This Tacflow™ course focuses on foot work congruent to both the combative and shooting world, along with principals allowing the operator to understand and recognize “true” violence within their opponent.

This course will introduce students to basic lock picking skills, as well as a variety of other options for lock bypassing beyond the conventional forced entry. Students will have an opportunity to develop new skills by picking
more than 150 different training locks.

TTPOA Region 7 will host a Rob Leatham 2 Day Pistol course at the Garland PD range located at3835 CR 489 Nevada TX on Oct 8-9 2018. Class starts at 8am on Oct 8.
